Are You Missing Something?

As a Beauty Biz Coach, it’s important to me that you succeed in reaching the levels of Success that you desire in your beauty biz.

It’s why I do this!

To be a good coach, it’s also important that I share with you when I see you doing something that is hurting you and holding you back.

It doesn’t always feel good to do this; I’d rather just remind you how awesome you are all the time. But then I wouldn’t be a very good business coach.

Call this tough love… but I have to ask you a question.

Are you being a Help Rejecting Complainer?

What is this? Gretchen Rubin explains it like this:

A “help-rejecting complainer” complains as a way to seek help and support, but then rejects any help that’s offered. Whenever anyone tries to make a constructive suggestion — “Why don’t you try…?” or “Could you…?” — the help-rejecter insists that the advice is useless.

So why am I asking you this today?

It’s because every day, we get emails and messages asking – even pleading – for help and often the very thing they are asking for has already been provided. Here are some actual examples:

1. I watched your video on 6 Treatment Room Secrets and would really like to know where you got “X” …that information was right under the video, and it even had a link going right to the thing to buy. It could have been a single click for her but instead she wrote and sent and email and had to wait for a reply back.

2. Someone gets an email about a new program, and there’s a link to check it out in the email. Rather than following the directions in the email, they email in to support saying they got the email about the new program and they want to know more about it. Again, the info they wanted was right at their fingertips and only a click away.

3. Someone writes in saying that they keep getting clients leaving because they weren’t there exactly on time – they were only a few minutes late – and they felt that the client should have waited, so they want to know what they can do. The answer is IN the question… be on time!

4. One of my favorites – and why I decided to write this today – is this one… Someone received Saturday’s email about the free training from the live Beauty Biz Workshop that I’m sharing with everyone for a limited time. This person replied to that email asking if I had any free training available because she’d had a lot of bills lately and needed help… the email she replied to was a free training but she didn’t actually read the email to know that!!

The moral of this story is to slow down, pay attention and don’t just automatically assume that you don’t know something, can’t do something, didn’t get something, need something, etc.
