Business Success Gratitude List

Illustration of a Girl Sitting on a Couch making a Long ListI’m sure you’ve heard about the benefits of keeping a gratitude list. It makes such a huge difference it’s almost magical. For me, I like to go a step further and keep a gratitude list for my business too so I can keep track of the things that enabled me to grow. Inevitably, some of the things that end up on this list are things that at the time, I felt anything but grateful for (some made me downright angry) but in hindsight, I can see so clearly how I grew because of them.

I think it’s important to reflect on these things so we can see how important it is that we stay out of our own way and just keep moving forward even when we’d rather crawl in a hole for awhile.

Today, I’m sharing part of my Biz Success Gratitude List… here are the Top 5 happenings from my 2014 esthetician world that I feel very grateful for…

1. My to do list.

As the owner of multiple businesses, my to-do list never ends and I used to freak out over it but now I’m grateful for it. After all, a to-do list means time (and money) being wasted on non-client stuff, right? Maybe not. Last year, I started looking at it differently. I realized that once I accomplished a task from my list, it meant that there was a part of my business that now works better or looks fresh and new. That may sound a little Pollyanna-ish but guess what? This new way of looking at the list helped me knock out A TON of tasks like…

2. Letting go of a lot of things that weren’t serving me in my spa.

This one involved hiring staff that is more aligned with my ideas of what is needed to achieve and maintain success in this industry.

I’m not going to lie to you… This one was so HARD. I ended up having to run the whole show by myself for the month of July. I also found myself having to attend a court hearing by phone while sitting on a sidewalk in Maui (yes, while on vacation), but that’s a whole other topic for a future newsletter.

So why did this make my gratitude list? It’s because there were a lot of valuable lessons learned during the letting go process and these lessons cleared the way for better things to come in.

3. I am VERY grateful for and proud of the ESTHETICIANS in my coaching program who hit the 6-FIGURE mark in 2014!

I have received quite a few emails, texts and Facebook messages from gals in my coaching programs thanking me for the tools that helped them reach the 6-figure mark in 2014.

This is one of the things I am most grateful for because helping other beauty biz practitioners achieve success makes my heart sing!

4. My business coach pushing me to do better.

I do practice what I preach and I heavily invest in a business coach and a mastermind group. I realized a long time ago that I feel more confident, my business grows faster and I thrive when I am supported by someone who is willing to share resources, hold me accountable and offer guidance related to my success. I’ve tested this multiple times and it always holds true that when I’m working with a coach, I do better and make more.

5. YOU! My Fellow Beauty Biz Practitioner.

I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration, motivation and support that you have sent my way. I appreciate each and every one of you who has sent a kind word, attended one of my speeches, and/or purchased one of my programs. As a thank you for your support, I am extending a very special invitation to you…
