Money Worrier or Money Warrior?

Do you worry about money?

If you are like most of the beauty biz practitioners I speak with, you’re nodding your head yes right now so you are certainly not alone.

I get it.

It took me WAY too long to figure how to stop letting my finances freak me out! And it was making me miserable.

Today, I’m sharing my experience surrounding my “money worrier” days in hope that by sharing the work I have done to become a “money warrior” instead will help you quickly remove some stress from your life.

Here are my Top 3 Tips to Let Go of the Money Worries

1. Realize that you spend a lot of time worrying about misfortune that is never going to happen.

My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened. Michel de Montaigne

The way I overcome my unnecessary – and unrealistic – thoughts surrounding money is to write each money fear down and then assess each one.

Once the list is complete I create the plan of action that I will take if any one of the listed worries does actually happen.

Having this plan of action either calms me down or makes me giggle at how silly my worries are.

It may sound simplistic but I encourage you to give this “money worry list” a try! I bet you will find that either reaction – the giggle or the calming – is therapeutic.

2. Know that you have the power to do something about it.

Most money worriers slip into paralyzation mode. They think they are doomed so they give up and dive deeper into despair.

Don’t do that, do this instead…

Next time you feel frozen with money worries, try stepping into what I call “money warrior” mode.

A money warrior gives gratitude that they have all the tools necessary to change the current situation and make it better.

#truth = You have the mind, body and soul to design a better version of you.

Money warriors make a list of the abundant opportunities that are available to them now and they create ways to find the fortune that lies ahead.

A perfect example of a strong money warrior is a gal in my E Club coaching program (let’s call her Beth to protect her privacy).

Beth recently moved half way across the country and started over… yes, brave Beth left a busy beauty biz practice and started from scratch.

Beth tried renting a room in a salon and was not attracting clients as quickly as she had hoped.

Beth then got a second job as a waitress and is carrying her beauty biz cards around in her apron so they are available to hand out to anyone she would like to welcome into her treatment room.

My best guess is that Beth will succeed because instead of giving up, she is creating opportunity and generating income to help her fulfill her dream.

3. Take Action. Yes, I mean actually do something to help you put your money worries behind you.

Once you have made a money worry P.O.A (plan of action) list and you are able to see that you have the all the tools needed to create change, here’s where it gets real.

Put on your money warrior hat and TAKE ACTION.

Fill in the blanks to help get you started:

I (your name) ____________________ understand fully that I have the power to remove my money worries and this will happen once I start to take action.

My money warrior action steps are:

1. ____________________________

2. ____________________________

3. ____________________________

*Action step examples: read a money book, visit a financial planner, find a free online budget to help you track your spending and set goals, step into one income generating opportunity that you have been avoiding, call a few clients you haven’t seen in awhile, write a newsletter, post your business offering on social media. Just get your beauty biz groove on and watch what happens.

Here’s what I know for sure…

The beauty industry is full of abundance and it’s up to you to decide which role you will embrace. Will you be a Money Worrier or a MONEY WARRIOR?
