My New Equipment Investment
I am wondering what you were thinking when you saw the subject line of this email.
Did you think I was going to share all the juicy deets about a fancy new piece of spa equipment that I purchased?
Did your heart start to race because you are desperately in the market to purchase a facial machine that will turn your treatment room into the talk of the town?
Have you in the past or are you thinking that the beauty biz practitioner with the most expensive tools gets all the clients?
I believe that many of us fall into the “Bright Shiny Object Trap”. “Oh if I only had a new (you fill in your dream machine here – we all have one!), I just know I would become booked solid”.
I myself have fallen into this trap and I just got a business awareness lesson that hit me in the face like an overly aggressive chemical peel. OUCH!
I have spent thousands of dollars on beautiful equipment that I am super proud of and it has attracted amazing clients right in my door, but there has been an element of my business missing….
My spa lobby needs an update. Big. Time!
I have known this for a long time and have been avoiding investing the time and effort required to make this happen.
Until…
One of my uber wealthy and brutally honest clients with a “you can make anything happen” attitude sent her interior designer to my spa. 🙂
The 1st thing this decorator said to me was, “You have many people with very deep pockets following you and your spa needs to speak to this from the moment they walk in the door. AND it doesn’t have to be expensive to achieve.”
I heard her words, I actually felt her words and I totally get it!
Wake up call, Lori! I have overlooked A MAJOR client attraction tool – the 1st impression.
I wont be tearing down walls or ordering a bulldozer for the makeover, but I will be giving my spa lobby a mini-facelift. Think “Chic In a Week” 🙂
This “freshen up” my front lobby is my new equipment investment:
Equipment – the necessary items for a particular purpose.
Success Tip: A great way to invest in something that will provide value to your beauty biz is to think about your purpose.
My purpose is to provide a remarkable experience from the second someone books. I will no longer overlook that fact that a beautiful 1st impression can build a solid long-term relationship with my ideal client.
So my success lesson to share with you is…
Instead of being hyper focused on that piece of facial equipment that has you drooling… Take a look around your space and think outside the box… see if there is something that could be improved to make your client’s visit a bit more memorable.
Here’s an easy “freshen up” your space idea: Weekly fresh flowers in your lobby, treatment room or bathroom. Women REALLY notice these simple, but elegant touches.
