The Angel I wanted to be!
It was 1977 and Charlie’s Angeles was my FAVORITE show. I was in the 3rd grade when I discovered these smart, beautiful and brave women and I did not miss an episode.
I so wanted to be Jaclyn Smith AKA Kelly Garrett.
So…
You can probably only imagine my excitement when I was home alone on a Friday night looking for something to do and I stumbled upon an Oprah episode of, “Where Are They Now” and Jaclyn Smith was being featured!
I was truly stunned at how she looks at 68 years old. Honestly not much different than she did back in 1977.
“Wow” I thought, “how the heck has she kept her skin looking so incredible?”
Here’s what Jaclyn said when Oprah asked her about how she maintained her youthfulness…
“I think I feel my best—I really feel the fountain of youth is inside, not out—when I’m just surrounded with love.”
This statement really moved me. I paused the TV for a minute to process this. *Now I am sure she has had an injection (or two) and a plastic surgery procedure (or two).
But…
She looks darn good and I think that it has a lot to do with her exchange of energy with others.
Here are my takeaways (thank you Jaclyn) from the awareness that the “fountain of youth could very well be found inside us”:
- Treat yourself well and spend time around those that make you feel beautiful, as this will radiate from the inside out.
- Treat your family, friends, clients and your co-workers with love and this will not only make you remarkable (worth making a remark about), but it will make loving, kind and appreciative clients crave your services.

Here’s what one happy esthetician had to say about this training:
I bit the bullet and raised my waxing prices across the board and guess what? Not one of my clients is upset about it and many of them told me they were surprised I hadn’t done it sooner? WHAT?! Thanks Lori for the kick in the butt I didn’t know I needed. ~ Kathleen
