There are no excuses – AMEN!

Recently there was a power outage at my spa from 9am – 2pm, and one of the estheticians who rents a room from me did something that made me laugh… and actually made me realize why I SO admire the way she conducts business.

Her name is Sharon and I want to tell you a bit about her.

Sharon is a 6-figure Esthetician and along with being a very hard worker she is not afraid to take the path of least resistance and do what it takes to show up 100% for her clients.

Sharon keeps these handy headlamps in her treatment room just in case of an emergency.

And…

She wasn’t afraid to pull them out and continue on with her day even when most would have closed up shop and headed home, to the beach, or to the mall. She continued to work right through a power outage – and her clients were entertained and grateful – to say the least!

So,

Even if you don’t have a coal miners apparatus hidden in your treatment room…

Here are few things that we can all learn from Sharon and her awesome work ethics:

1. Commit 100% to make success happen. Don’t give up just because something isn’t going your way. Use the trying times and the challenges as raw materials to learn and grow and become even better than you already are.

2. Do it differently than your competition would. This is what makes you shine. This is what gets you referrals. This is what makes you a rock star client attraction magnet. This is what makes you a confident leader in the eyes of your clients.

I know this thought process helped me grow my business even when the economy was TANKING. I refused to get caught up in the doom and gloom and instead taught my clients the value in taking care of themselves even if the news was telling everyone to stay home and never spend money again. Dare to be different in a positive way.

3. Be prepared to roll with an unexpected situation. This involves you stepping forward with creativity and acting like you are as cool as a cucumber even when you feel stressed and uncomfortable. When you encounter a bump in the road use humor, apologize (don’t ignore and act like your client wont notice), and let the client know you’re going to do your best to make it an awesome experience for them even if something is a little out of the norm.

Here’s to all the Sharon’s out there that make us laugh and inspire us to show up like rock stars!
