As I always do this time of year, I’ve been reflecting on the year that is coming to a close and looking specifically at the take-aways that will help me best support my fellow beauty biz practitioners in the year ahead.

Looking over the notes I’d made, I saw a clear pattern of where many of you are struggling and because positive change always starts with awareness, I’m sharing what I discovered with you now.

Keep in mind as you read this list, I didn’t create this to make you feel bad. In fact, I almost didn’t share it because I didn’t want you to be all down on yourself – especially at this time of year – BUT then I realized that I’d be doing you a disservice to not share it. Here’s why…

We all usually start off on a positive note but then as time goes by, little things start to happen over and over and before you know it, because we’re all creatures of habit, we fall into patterns. Running a pattern is the same thing as being stuck in a rut and it can be hard to realize that you’re in it until something brings it to your attention.

It’s in that spirit that I bring you The Top 10 Reasons Why You’re Not Making More Money …and of course, I’ll help you get rid of these habits so 2016 becomes your best year yet. Here goes…

1. Your confidence level is low. You believe that estheticians aren’t supposed to be financially successful. Your mindset stinks.

2. You don’t have a positive support system. Your loved ones think this is a fun (expensive) hobby and not a lucrative career.

3. You are tired of trying things that don’t work, so you have just settled for status quo.
