What Customers Want The Most
I don’t feel like we learn enough about what clients want in our trainings. Period.
It is missing in our “get ready to pass the state board” training.
It is missing from our “product knowledge” training.
It is missing from our “you must have this amazing piece of equipment” training.
So, let’s talk about the core of what our clients want the most…
Belief – Trust, Faith or Confidence In You and Your offers. Period.
Here are 5 ways to provide your clients with belief in you and your offerings…
1. Practice what you preach. Use your products and make sure your skin is healthy and glowing, get your eyebrows in tip-top shape, wax that upper lip, take the time to microderm your face and talk about it. You are your very own walking billboard – use this to gain client belief.
2. Run. On. Time. One of the most disrespectful things you can do to another person is make them wait for you. Everyone is busy and clients are the center of their own universe. This is a must if you want to create belief in the eyes of your client. They need to believe that you care about and respect them.
3. Create a consistent marketing message. This is a POWERFUL tool that lets your clients know that you are ready, open and serious about showing up for them. Hearing from you consistently will lead them to believe that you care about them.
4. Dress Like A Professional. It is so important for our clients to view us as a leader and an expert. You must create this inside and out. Business casual is what I recommend. Lose the jeans and fedoras if you want to be taken seriously. Think about how you would feel if your Dr. walked in the patient room to treat you looking like he/she just left the beach or a dance club.
5. Invest where you need it and let your client know that you are improving your skills. What’s the one area were you know you could use help? (writing newsletters, shopping for new work attire, better sales skills, organizing your work world, client card updates, website design, more product knowledge, follow up calls).
Fill in the blank: I know I need to improve ______________ to grow my business. Now locate support in this area and go for it.
Suggestion on how to implement this one:
Client Asks: “How are you? What’s new?”
Your Answer: “I am feeling like a proud gal/guy… I spent my days off in a class that taught me how to be a better esthetician. I love investing this way because it allows me to provide you with better service.”
Results to watch for… increased sales, surge in client referrals and strengthened client loyalty.
