My Top 5-Must Have Treatment Room Tools
A client’s experience with you starts the moment that they walk in the door. They’ll remember ALL parts of that experience – not just the treatment that they are there for.
In fact, it’s often the ‘little things’ where you go above and beyond (without it really taking much expense or effort) that cause them to bond with you keep them coming back.
I always strive to give my clients the best experience possible from beginning to end to insure that when they look back on their time with me, they remember being pampered.
- Schedulicity: Schedulicity online booking has allowed me to spend more face-to-face time with clients, which ultimately leads to dramatically increased profits in my business.Schedulicity also allows me to easily communicate with my clients via their online marketing email platform, which is a beautiful way to keep my schedule full of amazing clients.
- Earthlite Bed: This was my 1st big investment as an esthetician and I remember being so scared to spend the money, but so excited to have a bed that didn’t break my back!14-years later the Earthlite bed is still one of my (and my clients’) favorite treatment room tools.
- The Jade Facial Massage Stone: I personally feel the art of pampering has disappeared from the facial experience (I was guilty of this myself), so I recently decided to start each facial (excluding acne clients), with a therapeutic and relaxing Jade Stone Massage.
- Essential Oils: Essential oils are a fairly new favorite of mine. One day at the end of yoga class (during final relaxation) my instructor went around the room and put a drop of essential oil into everyone’s hand and had us inhale deeply and it was a magical experience.
I thought to myself, “Lori, why the heck aren’t you giving your clients this amazing experience?”
I went home that morning and bought, The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy by Valerie Ann Worwood.
I started with just a few and now I have about 10 favorites that I incorporate into almost every treatment. Here are a few:
Elevation by DoTerra – this is my spa’s signature scent and I use it in my favorite diffuser.
Peppermint Oil by Peppermint Jim – This oil never leaves my personal travel bag! I use is for cystic pimples, stomach aches and just to wake me up if I am feeling groggy. I use it in the treatment room the same way I use it personally.
Breathe by DoTerra – Breathe is just a great one to keep in your treatment room for those clients who get a little congested when they are on the treatment room table.
Thief Plus Oil by Ovvio – This is a great one and if you click on link you will learn that it has a lot of history behind it. (Young Living also has their version called Thieves.)
It seems to have a powerful germ killing property. I use this on my own hands between clients and will often add it to my hotel towels as aromatherapy.
Here is my signature homemade/holistic hand sanitizer recipe:
4 oz clean spritzer bottle
5 Drops of Ovvio Thief Plus Oil
3 Pumps of Fractionated Coconut Oil
Fill to top with Purified WaterMix all, shake and label it.
- Lush Microfiber Towels and Washcloths: My clients love these soft washcloths and so do I because they get all the foam off the clients face (you know what I mean, all the leftover foam from the super foamy cleansers we use), they wash well and they are state board approved (unlike the yellow sponges).
For your convenience, I’ve linked out all of the products I’ve recommended here so you can learn more about them and quickly purchase if you feel they are inline with your skin care approach. Some of the links may be affiliate links if it’s a product I frequently recommend to others.
