Trade Show Buzz: 5 Tips to Find Value In Vegas
I absolutely love going to The International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference.
This year’s IECSC Conference is happening June 25 -27th, in Las Vegas, NV.
I have been attending IECSC faithfully for about 10 years and over the years I have learned how to remove the overwhelm and overspending, and instead focus on using the conference to create long-term success and increased profits in my beauty biz practice.
Tip #1
Take some time to become clear on what you want to take away from the show.
Think about areas of void in your beauty biz and create a list of ways to enhance your existing practice.
Use these bullets to create a list of what you want to gain from the show:
- Info on a product line
- Deals on supplies such as muslin, cotton, wax
- New Equipment
- Education
- Finding out about hot new industry trends
Figure out where it would be wisest to spend your time once at the show.
Tip #2
Get a copy of the IECSC magazine or visit their website and become familiar with the floor layout and the exhibitors who are attending.
Visit some vendors websites to gain more knowledge about the companies that spark your interest (they are noted under the company name).
Tip #3
Make your “Top 5 Must Visit Booth List” and map out each vendor’s location.
The Virgo in me takes the time to circle and number the booths I want to visit, so you know how to move around efficiently and not waste a bunch of time zigzagging the trade show floor.
Stay focused and visit your top 5 booths first, as this will contribute to strategically purchasing what you need, and will help you avoid overspending.
Tip #4
Attend one educational class in an area that:
- Feeds your skin care soul
- Helps you gain confidence/knowledge in an area where you tend to shrink instead of shine
- Check out a class surrounding something you have been hearing a lot of buzz about and want first hand info to see if it’s worth investing in
Tip #5
Call your Credit Card Company and let them know you will be traveling.
No joke… my credit card used to get shut off every year at the Blinc Mascara booth.
Blinc is located in FL. and I am in CA so it would alert my cc company of potential fraud.
I would then spend 20 minutes on the phone trying to get it resolved… 20 minutes I could have spent shopping or learning.
Here’s my IECSC “to visit” list:
Visit:
My friend Crickett founder of Beelicious and The Wax Chick
Booth1977
I LOVE Crickett, she’s fun, funny and smart and I have heard she’s doing brow demos and she is the ONLY person I let do my brows.
Who knows, maybe I will get to be one of her demo gals? ☺
Squareup
Booth 1880
I have a secret project in the works and want to pick Square’s brain about what it takes to open an online shop. ☺
Osmosis Skin Care
Booth 833
I want to give my friends Dr. Ben and Robin McGee (president of Osmosis) a big ol’ hug and take advantage of their show specials.
I am opening a second location and the IESCS show is a great place to find AMAZING deals on your favorite skin care products.
CryoConcepts
Booth 444
I am hearing a ton of buzz about this concept and can’t wait to learn more!
“CryoClear’s high efficacy – over 95% – combined with less destruction of healthy tissue makes it perfect for treating age spots, sun spots and skin tags.” Cryoconcepts.com
And…
I am looking for a new spa bed. I currently have an Earthlite that I love, but I didn’t see their name on the vendors list, so I am open to all recommendations!
